Jackson works as a designer, project coordinator, and builder independently and through non-profits such as Transitional Spaces and Tulane City Center. In 2007, after completing undergraduate work in Architecture and Philosophy at Clemson University and studying urban public spaces in Barcelona, Jackson moved to New Orleans to build affordable housing. Initially focusing on housing accessibility and local food production issues, his experiences have produced a body of work that also encompasses land access guidance, community-driven public recreation areas, and design/build education. By assisting community groups with well-planned creation of needed space and the navigation of governmental processes, Jackson is a valuable resource as a facilitator and motivator.
